#9 King of the Zombies 1941
Three men crash on an unidentified island in the Caribbean, just a week after an U.S. Admiral went missing in the same area. They find a house with a Dr. who allows them to stay as his guests. One of the passengers, Jefferson Jackson, the valet of the other passenger, Mr. Summers, is the off-color comic relief of this film.
The zombies in this film are simply hypnotized people. The Dr. is working for a foreign government trying to get top secret information from the Admiral, who he captured before the three men crashed.
I enjoyed this one. The racial stereotyping was annoying but probably typical of the time period. Mantan Moreland's comedy carried the entire film.
